Valerie’s experience is in coding and auditing of a wide variety of specialties, Medicare and Medicaid regulatory compliance, customizing compliance plans, managed care credentialing, practice establishments, and practice operational consultations. Valerie has presented numerous programs on E/M, specialty coding, and audit preparation. She is also experienced in conducting compliance audits of medical records in accordance with the standards promulgated by CMS under corporate integrity agreements as well as Medicaid CAP agreements and providing training to physicians and other healthcare personnel.
Valerie is certified through The Board of Medical Specialty Coding as an Advanced Coding Specialist – Evaluation and Management and American Academy of Professional Coders as a Certified Professional Coder. Also, Valerie holds a BA degree in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
